Being exposed to the hot sun without protection is terrible for rowing performance. I've also heard that skin cancer is terrible for you...
So, how about you get a hat that covers your whole face, ears, and neck! Caps are great, but I find in the peaks of summer a boonie hat really makes a huge difference at keeping me cool (and keeping my fine Scottish Skin un-crisped).
I had these made on a whim when I was suffering from the heat on a GB training camp in Portugal. Trust me, you don't want to be caught without one!
