1:1 Mentoring Session with Miles Beeson – £50/hr

Whether you’re trying to drop your ergo score, get recruited to a US college, make your first GB trial, or just figure out how to balance rowing with the rest of life, I’m here to help.

I’m Miles Beeson, a current rower on the British Senior Team and proud member of the Men’s 8+ training for the 2025 World Championships. Before that, I studied Political Science at Yale, graduating with Distinction in 2023. While I was there, I won the team National Championship, picked up 3 Eastern Sprints titles, and set a course record at the Yale-Harvard Regatta in the 1V.

At the U23 level, I won World Championships in the 8+, 4-, and 2-, becoming the first person to do so. At Junior level I raced at Junior Worlds twice, Coupe de la Jeunesse once, and the GB-France J16 Match. Safe to say I've done my fair share of trials in Nottingham!

I started rowing at Aberdeen Schools Rowing Association, a small but mighty club in the north of Scotland. I’ve been through the GB trials system from J16 to Senior, and I know exactly what that process is like. I also know how to get recruited to a US college, how to survive once you’re there, and how to keep loving the sport even when things get tough.

Outside of rowing, I started Feather & Square while I was still at uni because I didn’t believe bad blisters had to be part of the job. Now our balm has gone global and we’ve built a community of rowers who care about their hands, their performance, and having a laugh along the way. I've learned a lot from building a business on my own whilst training 3 times a day, and I'm keen to share those lessons!

This session is for anyone who’s interested in rowing, entrepreneurship, or finding the right university path. Whether you want to talk race strategy, technical improvements, college recruiting, mental prep, or even rowing memes (yes, I make those too), we’ll tailor the hour to you.

How it works:
Once you book, I’ll send you an email with a link to pick a time that works. Sessions are held over Google Meet and run for at least an hour (unless you want me to shut up before then!).

This email will include a link to a survey so that you can tell me a bit more about what you're looking for. This means that I can tailor a session directly to your needs and make sure you're getting your money's worth!
