So you’re interested in preventing your hands from being torn to shreds?
Perhaps you don’t love deep cracks creeping across your palms or seeing friends and family recoil at the touch of your dry, ragged fingers?
If that is indeed the case, then you, dear reader, are going to be a fan of Feather & Square hand balm.
Our mighty tins contain 6 simple ingredients, all blended beautifully (in the UK if you even care) to answer the (literally) age-old problem of pesky rowing blisters.
Our special formula is designed to help rowers in 2 ways:
Preventing blisters
The balm is carefully designed to moisturise skin without making it soft. Dry skin is highly prone to ripping under friction (especially when it gets wet) and so using the balm brings your existing calluses to life by hydrating them and adding an extra layer of waxy protection. Make sure to apply the balm AT LEAST 30 minutes before the start of a session to ensure the balm has a chance to fully absorb into your skin. Otherwise it may end up on the handle!
Healing blisters
Rowing Blisters become a lot less painful when they heal in a matter of days instead of weeks! When skin does rip or a blister forms underneath the skin apply a small quantity of F&S balm to the affected area once you feel it starts to dry out. This will help to simulate the skin being alive and prevent it from drying out which is painful and results in cracks. Apply as regularly as needed to prevent drying out and discomfort, but use less than you think! Just a small amount on a fingertip will suffice.
Nighttime is a great opportunity to heal so feel free to apply more liberally and let the balm help your body to heal while you sleep. This should entirely prevent cracks from occurring, but if they do (or you have acquired your tin after they’ve developed) then the balm should help them to heal quickly.
